March 13, 2013 was another day of celebration in the context of our 40th anniversary at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Osijek, Croatia.  We were especially honored by our two distinguished speakers, the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic and renowned Yale scholar Miroslav Volf (also a graduate and Professor at ETS).

Many distinguished Christian and public leaders attended the occasion.  The celebration itself was held at a historical (former) Jewish Synagogue in the center of the campus, and was well covered by the media.  The event included a lecture on “The Meaning of Christian Faith in the Era of Globalization” by Miroslav Volf, and a speech on religious freedom by President Josipovic.   Volf was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity, while President Josipovic received an award for promoting a culture of dialogue and tolerance, and contending for the rights of religious minorities.  “President Josipovic thanked Dr. Kuzmic and ETS for the recognition and praised the school for its strategic contribution in transforming human lives, culture and society with a message of peace and hope,” reported the Croatian press.
