Workshops with Steve HardyWith the beginning of May, we will welcome Steve Hardy, a specialist working with Langahm International who has written on academic administration and teaching in higher education. He will hold workshops / lectures designed for faculty members in our institution as follows: Monday (9 May) 9am to 12pm - "A Theology of Theological Education" - a seminar which provides an overview of the task we have in teaching, followed by 'God's curriculum', which is to consider how what we do fits into the life-long plan that God has for the growth and equipping of each one of our students which leads into a general discussion of the nature of curriculum and how we should design training that responds to the realities of our students and their contexts. Tuesday (10 May) 9am to 12pm - Examining questions of educational leadership and teaching. If teachers are not over familiar with a book called the 7 Laws of the Learner the speaker will provide a walk through a power point that summarizes very important points that should inform the way we do teaching. As well, the speak will move into a consideration of "Cross-cultural" teaching, given the wide variety of students that we normally have. Wednesday (11 May) 9am to 12pm - Looking at some trends in global theological education, then considering questions of evaluation and renewal (which is basically the last chapter of the speaker's book.)
