Workshops with Steve Hardy

With the beginning of May, we will welcome Steve Hardy, a specialist working with Langahm International who has written on academic administration and teaching in higher education. He will hold workshops / lectures designed for faculty members in our institution.

Who is Reihl Kir to you?

The Center for Peace Studies in cooperation with the Center for Peace Osijek invites you to the opening of the exhibition called "Who is Reihl Kir to you?", dedicated to the tragic fate of the former chief of police in Osijek, to be held on our campus on Monday November 29, at 5.30pm.

The exhibition is one of the activities of the regional project "Minorities for minorities", organized by the Center for Peace Studies in Zagreb.

After the opening of the exhibition a round table on the topic 'Who is Reihl Kir to us today', related to the current political power in Osijek will be held at 6.30pm.

Christian Book Week

This year's Christian book event opened on Thursday, October 28th 2010, in the library of the Evangelical Theological Faculty.

The dean, Dr. Marcel Macelaru, opened with words of greeting, after which representatives of the Adventist theological faculty, Dr. Zeljko Porobija and Dr. Dragutin Matak, spoke about the meaning of Christian books and Christian publishers in the modern world of technology and the ever increasing number of users of Internet sites such as Facebook.

A lecture by Eric Titus was given on the topic of "The forgotten teachings of Jean Calvin: church and priesthood", followed by a round table discussion.

On Friday the 29th, the exhibition of Christian books was opened where various Christian publishers were presented. Several groups of children from Osijek elementary schools had the opportunity to visit the exhibit and the faculty's library.

In the evening, a round-table discussion was organized on the topic of "100 years of evangelizing the world: from Edinburg 1910 to Lausanne 2010". Dr Kresimir Simic, who was a participant at the Lausanne congress on world evangelization in Cape Town from the 16th to the 25th of October 2010, acted as moderator. During the presentation a short video "Turning Points" was shown which talked about two millennium of Christianity spreading in the world. The key speakers were rev. Toma Magda, Dr. Zeljko Senkovic, Damir Super, with many other from the audience participating with their questions.

On Saturday October 30th, Dr. Ksenija Magda held a lecture, followed by open discussions, on the topic of "The role of women in the leadership of the Church". Among the participants were other women who have distinguished themselves in such roles.

The Christian book event concluded with a special service at the church "Radosne vijesti", on the occasion of the anniversary of the Reformation. The sermon on the topic of "A memory of the reformation" was given by Dr. Kresimir Simic.
