Postgraduate Certificate in Theology

Besides the full MTh programme, we offer a Postgraduate Certificate programme, which can be completed in one year.

The Postgraduate Certificate is a flexible self-study programme for those who would like a deeper understanding of the Christian faith but who cannot invest three years in an undergraduate degree programme. Instead, it provides one calendar year (twelve months) of guided independent study. On the Bologna System, it carries 30 ECTS, which includes approximately 6,000 pages of reading and 60 pages of writing.

The syllabus has seven components: Integrative Christian Worldview, Introduction to the Old Testament, Introduction to the New Testament, The Task of Exegesis, Canon and Community, Historical Theology, and Systematic Theology.

This programme assumes basic familiarity with the Bible and the Christian faith, but no formal theological training. Since it is intended for graduates of other disciplines, it assumes the standard academic skills of critical thinking and writing a properly formatted research paper.

All the required reading is in English, and written assignments are submitted in English. We recommend a level of competence equivalent to a TOEFL score of 550.
